I use a range of approaches to best meet the needs of students - from fun games approaches for young children to a coaching approach for more advanced students. My mantra is simple - "it's not your job to learn the way I teach but for me to teach the way that you learn"

Years of educational experience in schools, as a headteacher and now retired CEO of a multi-academy trust, I know what great teaching looks like and always seek to deliver that in my own practice.

In teaching piano, I use music in a range of musical genres to suit students and seek to build both technical skill as well as musicality, appreciation and enjoyment, whether that be classical, jazz or popular styles.

Over the last 40 years I have successfully taught all ages and continue to thorougly enjoy the priviledge of unlocking potential and enjoyment of learning the piano which I was introduced to at the age of 7!
