During both my undergraduate and postgraduate degree I have studied the science behind human learning and memory consolidation, and so using this I have developed a teaching style which involves active learning to form a deep rooted understanding of Biology. Firstly, by exploring each mini-topic in detail, and following this by piecing knowledge together to create a more holistic comprehension.

I prefer to gain an understanding of the methods of learning which have proven both successful and unsuccessful for each student in the past, as well as identifying key areas within Biology that each student struggles with or finds easy to understand to gauge the method of learning most likely to benefit them, such as through active recall, quizzes, in depth explanation, etc.

I am currently working as an Au Pair for two secondary school aged children, and I enjoy helping them with homework and exam preparation in a range of subjects from science to mathematics. I am very passionate about biology and love sharing this passion with them through helping them deepen their understanding of science and biology!
