My teaching approach begins with engaging exercises that encourage experimentation and help students overcome initial fear, allowing them to approach art with confidence.
Following this, I guide students through essential techniques and fundamentals, teaching them how to use brushes and materials properly, understand colour theory, develop drawing skills, and learn how to observe and measure accurately.
I believe art education should be encouraging, flexible, and centered around the individual rather than set methods.
I avoid prescribing a single way of working, instead encouraging students to explore their own visual language, their personal way of seeing, and their reasons for making art, free from rigid expectations or categories.
Lessons can be tailored to personal goals, whether for enjoyment, skill development, portfolio preparation, or creative exploration.
I work with beginners, intermediate students, and those returning to art after a long break. I also teach children and adults, adapting each lesson to the student’s pace and goals.
