Stella Johnson

Hello! I’m a warm, patient and understanding tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students build their confidence and reach their potential. I believe that every student is different, and there is no single way of learning that works for everyone. My approach is therefore centred around understanding each student’s individual needs, strengths and areas they find challenging.

During my lessons, I take the time to explain content clearly and in detail, without rushing. If there is something a student doesn’t understand, we will go through it together patiently until they feel comfortable with the topic. I want my lessons to be a supportive and comfortable space where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace.

My tutoring experience began while I was in college, where I volunteered to teach GCSE Maths. Since then, I have also provided private tutoring and have completed over 100 hours of tutoring experience. These experiences have helped me develop not only my teaching skills, but also my ability to adapt my explanations to different students and learning styles.

My passion for tutoring is also very personal. I was once a low-achieving student who needed extra support, so I understand how difficult it can feel when a subject doesn’t immediately make sense. I know how valuable it is to have someone who is patient, encouraging and willing to explain things differently. Now, I want to be that person for other students and help them realise that struggling with a subject does not mean they cannot succeed.

Aside from my passion for teaching, I enjoy travelling, reading books and watching movies!.
