When tutoring students, I ensure that we work from the bottom up to ensure concrete understanding of the fundamentals within mathematics, as these lay the groundwork for further understanding. I am quickly able to identify misconceptions and area of weaknesses which I then address immediately and then revisit these areas over the course of tutoring to ensure retention. I also extend students' knowledge by ensuring students can apply their knowledge to more complex problems and then incorporating other topics as there are many multi-step problems being used at GCSE. I use a mixture of resources and try to find the easiest explanations so as to not over complicate topics that can seem daunting and complex. The majority of my students find my methods easy to understand and are able to apply what they have been taught as well as retain and then apply these at a later date.
