I have the best knowledge of, and the most experienced teaching/learning the Eduqas GCSE music course and ABRSM piano grades and music theory (up to grade 6 level). However, I am very adaptable and able to teach the specification of any exam board you wish to study under (provided you let me know which one first).
Often lessons will be adaptable, but will follow the recommended structure of the course (for example, for Eduqas GCSE music this would be theory first with monthly check ins for performance, and then both composition pieces back to back, followed by performances and paperwork, and the GCSE written exam.)
However, if you'd like help with non-exam related music studies (for example, learning to songwriter or play piano for fun), in our first session we will outline together the structure of course you want to follow; whether you learn best in practice or in note taking, your course is individual to you!
Our first session, where we will get to know each other in a taster, is free, and can be anywhere between half an hour to an hour long. After that, they will be charged by the hour, but you can choose a session length of one hour, 30 minutes or 15 minutes. Frequency is up to you, but I'd recommend once a week/once a fortnight for piano lessons or KS1-KS3 lessons, and 1-3 per week for the GCSE course. All depends on how much time your child has to work on their course outside of our sessions.
As I am not a qualified music teacher, and am a student myself, my hours are a little more constructed, but will most often work around school runs and weekends. My rate is also far cheaper than most, as this is not my full time job, and as such, the value of my teaching lies in a solid knowledge of the subject and the ability for your child to be taught by another young person.
