I will conduct lessons online with exercises to be completed during the tutoring session as well as any work from school that requires my help to improve. I would hope to build an honest relationship between myself and my tutee so any issues or confusion with work or questions can be addresses and resolved. I’m a patient, reliable and motivated University of Warwick student so I can empathise with any areas of struggle that a tutee may be facing. I’ve previously mentored GCSE students whilst studying at sixth form as well as receiving tutoring myself at a young age. This experience will allow me to adapt and understand the perspective of a tutee and provide a high standard of tutoring and work.
For English tutoring lessons for those in primary school, I would aim to solidify their knowledge of grammar, comprehension and also creative writing as this is essential for brilliant SATs results. The work done in these tutor meetings will also improve not only their English SATs results but will impact their other studies positively. This is due to comprehension and grammar skills being a great foundation for subjects that will be studied in the future.
For those in secondary school, I can tutor in both English Language and Literature. I achieved a Grade 8, with a small margin between a grade 9 in both subjects. This exhibits my strong understanding of exam structure across all years and my attention to detail. Excellent analysis of books, poems and plays are crucial for achieving Grades 4-9 in GCSEs as well as improving English grades in years 7,8 and 9.
