I am a highly qualified and experienced tutor for young people within secondary schools and also SEMH/SEN specialist provisions around Oxfordshire. My term time role requires me to solely manage, adapt and create bespoke learning for an Inclusion classroom in a local mainstream school.
I am kind, patient, and hardworking to ensure that my students achieve to the best of their unique ability.
The content of my lessons are dependant on individual student need. No tutoring partnership is the same, however firstly we will identify areas of strengths and gaps in current knowledge, before moving on with practise essay questions. Then, with a focus on building on those answers to achieve higher grades, using evidential research methods, and intense key fact checks. We will continually review student knowledge and revisit those tricky concepts that we might come across.
Every lesson is documented in a live updated electronic student file for students and parents/guardians to keep track.
In my free time I spend it with my own children or embrace my love of historical research and social science to write both fiction and non fiction books.
I have worked with students who have :
Additional learning needs including Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties including Autism Spectrum Conditions, ADHD, Mental health illnesses and challenging behaviours.
I completed my BSc Social Science in 2017. The focus of study was primarily behavioural science and anti-oppressive professional practise, working with young people and community groups.
I completed my PGDip History in 2024 to enable me to assist young people who also have a strong interest in studying history at GCSE, A Level and University levels.
