My sessions are specially personalised for each student with a focus on conversational learning. Each session includes a main task which links directly to the current topic that requires the most focus. I prioritise building a safe and open environment for learning which can be as flexible as necessary to any struggles that may come up over their course. I am currently studying politics and international relations at university and would love to provide insight into how an interest in English can lead to different academic opportunities. Although my sessions can be more malleable, they are still directed towards specific milestones which are measured through mock style exam questions and reviews of the curriculum. The structure to achieve the top GCSE grades is a constant reference in my lessons focusing on:
- Structure
- Analysis
-Arguments
- Links to the text
- Historical context
- Conclusions
I understand that English isn’t the easiest subject for everyone and part of the sessions that I teach is demonstrating the way of thinking that is used and how it can be different to Maths or Science for example. When I sat my exams I got an A* in Literature and an A** in Language- I would love to help students achieve a higher grade no matter their level with no judgement of where they are currently working. Being taught by someone new can be intimidating at first but I know that with my sessions, you will be provided with honest and accurate guidance that can help you excel!
