I’m a Bsc Architecture graduate who enjoys helping students feel confident and supported in their art and design studies while fine-tuning their practical skills. My lessons are flexible and always shaped around what you are working on that week.
We usually begin with a short introduction where you explain the task you’ve been set, any worries you have, and what you’d like help with. From there, we decide together how to use the session. This might be a more creative, inspiration-led brainstorm and example led discussion, or we might dive straight into refining your skills in the medium you’re working with and develop the work live. Often, lessons are a mixture of both.
The dynamic can be hands-on and practical or casual, imaginative, and idea-focused depending on what you need. We can talk through interests, explore different approaches and concepts and look at artists or references that relate to your class topic.
I have strong skills in hand-making and crafting, drawing from life, watercolour and acrylic painting, and technical and precise drawing. I also work digitally and can support you with drawing on software such as Photoshop and Illustrator. I have a good eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills. So, whatever medium you are working in, or if you would like to change medium, I can offer expert guidance on technique and materials, helping you fine-tune your skills and build confidence. My aim is to help you bring out your ideas, improve and strengthen your skills, and feel motivated, engaged, capable, and excited about your creations.
