It is my aspiration to make a career in social care, and to gain the transferrable skills and experience that will aid me in my studies toward eventually becoming a clinical psychologist. I want to help people.

• Great people skills – I am a natural diplomat and a peacemaker and a skilled communicator. I am also a good listener with a high level of empathy and understanding and I like to think I can always find the common ground. I have used these skills effectively, not only in my current volunteering role, but also in my earlier work with the mental health charity MIND, and in my personal life.

• Problem Solving Skills – I am quick and eager to learn and I like puzzles and mysteries. I am logical and analytical in most situations, taking clues and cues from all that is around me. These qualities have best served me in my roles as a technician and a mental health worker.

• High level of literacy and numeracy – As an avid reader and a fan of the arts, I have a love of the written word and a fascination for languages and communication in general. I have also a keen regard for mathematics, as a cornerstone of all the sciences, and a good basic command of mental arithmetic.

• Exceptional Standards – If something is worth doing at all, then I make it my obsession. The standards I set reflect the principles I try to live by as well as the reputation I try to maintain. Once I commit to a cause, I never stop.

I am a Psychology graduate, having completed a BSc degree at the University of Gloucestershire.
