I am experienced in private tutoring pupils from KS2 to A Level on a one-on-one basis. I have taught maths, business studies, and science, and with my BSc in Environmental Science, I am well-equipped to teach geography and any other relevant subjects as well. I value clear communication and understanding the most and believe them to be the foundation of a good tutor-pupil relationship, ensuring that I have created a safe environment for pupils to raise any concerns and highlight their strengths and weaknesses within their subjects. I prefer to teach students online in a one-to-one meeting so that my attention is not diverted and the student feels more comfortable operating at their own pace. I provide various exercises and learning methods to cater for each pupil's specific needs. I follow the national curriculum and textbooks to cover the course content and have a stable timeline which I will follow with the student in order to set regular and achievable milestones. Furthermore, as previously mentioned, communication is a key aspect to tutoring therefore I like to discuss the pupil's preferred learning styles, their strengths and weaknesses, and any other additional information with the parent / caregiver, and keep them in the loop by checking in regularly, ideally after every session or so. More about myself - I have just graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science, and completed my A Levels prior to that in Maths, Business, and Geography.
