My lessons are tailored and structured toward my students' needs. I like to build a connection with each student, understanding what type of learner they are and building a lesson plan based on their needs. Being a university English student, I believe providing a beneficial and high standard of teaching will help students come out with the best results. A lot of my content is based around essay writing, research, descriptive language, close readings, analysing text and books and how to reference. I like to keep my lessons as interactive as possible to help my students actively engage and enjoy the subject instead of just listening. I also like to check on my students regularly, tracking their progress and ensuring that their achievements are logged and acknowledged. I can help with note-taking, creating flash cards, and setting independent tasks while working along the students' specific school curriculum.
I understand that many children struggle with the concept of English, and it is extremely important to me that patience, understanding and creativity are encouraged within my students and that I am able to see their confidence shine through their writing when tutoring. I like to keep my lessons as interactive as possible to help my students actively engage and enjoy the subject instead of just listening. I also find it beneficial for both the student and me to check their progress regularly. By tracking their progress, it helps me ensure that their achievements are logged and acknowledged, which helps the student grow more confident and bold in their work
