Shani (Nishani) Cadwallender

I have 15 years’ experience teaching GCSE and A Level English Literature with excellent results, a BA in English from the University of Cambridge and a double prize-winning MA in Victorian Studies from Birkbeck UoL (Most Promising Victorianist and Best Dissertation).

I am currently working on a fully-funded PhD project about trees in the work of three marginalised Victorian women poets, and am under contract for a poetry collection of my own to be released in 2028. I speak at academic conferences, give public talks and readings, and run workshops for schools. It is safe to say that literature is my passion in all aspects of life and my work is externally recognised, so hiring me means you get a truly engaged expert with years of classroom experience.

My sessions are designed to be exploratory, encouraging, rigorous and engaging. We will use a combination of past papers, questions, discussion and guided annotation, as well as covering strategies for planning and writing. Most of all, the sessions will be tailored to you— whether you need support with homework or a full re-cap of study you’ve missed, I can provide it. My price per hour includes marking and prep work and reflects my deep subject knowledge and extensive experience.
