I am a qualified English teacher with a degree in Education with English, QTS, a Level 5 TEFL Diploma, and specialist training in Business English. I currently teach in a state school and have also spent the last three years working in supply teaching and training roles across the UK. This experience has allowed me to work with a wide variety of students and professionals from different backgrounds, cultures, age groups, and ability levels, helping me develop a highly adaptable, patient, and supportive teaching style.
I have experience teaching primary-aged students, adults, and learners with SEND, and I understand that every student learns differently. Because of this, I carefully adapt my teaching methods to suit each individual learner. I use a communicative, student-centred approach that focuses on building confidence through real-life language use, guided practice, and meaningful interaction. Lessons are structured but flexible, allowing space to revisit areas of difficulty while steadily building new skills.
My teaching methods include a blend of explicit instruction, modelling, and scaffolded practice, alongside interactive activities such as discussion tasks, role-play, reading comprehension, and targeted writing exercises. I also incorporate retrieval practice and regular review to strengthen long-term understanding and help students retain key language. For exam-focused learners, I provide clear strategies, exam technique practice, and structured feedback to support improvement and confidence.
Depending on the learner’s needs, lessons may focus on grammar, speaking fluency, pronunciation, writing accuracy, reading skills, Business English, or general communication. I aim to make lessons engaging, practical, and relevant so students can immediately apply what they learn.
Above all, my lessons are designed to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and progressing at their own pace. I focus on clear, measurable progress and building lasting confidence in English.
