I provide structured, one-to-one online Biology lessons for KS3, GCSE and A-level students. Before the first lesson, I ask about the student’s course, current topics, upcoming assessments and the areas they find most difficult. This helps me prepare lessons that are relevant to their immediate work as well as their longer-term progress.
Lessons usually begin with a short review of previous material or a few diagnostic questions. I then explain the topic step by step, using diagrams, worked examples, shared notes and exam-style questions where appropriate. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout. I adapt the pace and level of detail to their existing knowledge, whether they need to revisit core concepts, work through challenging questions or prepare for an assessment.
For GCSE and A-level students, I can support revision planning, interpretation of mark schemes, scientific terminology, data handling, practical-method questions and exam technique. I can also help students organise their notes and identify gaps in understanding before exams. Where useful, I set short practice tasks between sessions and use the next lesson to review them.
I hold an MSc in Molecular Neuroscience with Distinction from the University of Bristol and a BSc in Animal Biology. My academic background covers cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, physiology, microbiology, immunology and neuroscience. I previously taught Mathematics and Sciences through GoStudent and Greene’s Tutorial College, Oxford, providing one-to-one support to learners aged 9–18.
My aim is for each student to leave lessons with a clearer understanding of the topic and a practical plan for what to work on next.
