My lessons are built around one principle: you learn English by doing it, not by watching someone else do it. Every session is interactive — expect to write, discuss, analyse, and question throughout, with me guiding rather than lecturing.
A typical lesson starts with a clear goal we've agreed on, whether that's mastering a specific essay structure, decoding an unseen text, or tightening up grammar. We'll work through the skill together with worked examples, then you'll practise it yourself while I give live feedback. I finish each session by summarising what we've covered and setting a short, focused task so the learning sticks between lessons.
I place a strong emphasis on exam technique. Having achieved an A* in A-level English with 100% on my coursework, I know that success in English isn't about vague "flair" — it's about understanding precisely what examiners reward and building answers systematically. We'll study mark schemes and examiner reports together and turn them into clear, repeatable strategies, so English stops feeling subjective and starts feeling achievable.
I tailor everything to the individual student: pace, materials, and focus areas all adapt to how you learn best. For students who feel anxious or stuck, I break skills into small, confidence-building steps; for those chasing top grades, I push analysis deeper and refine written style line by line.
Currently studying Biochemistry with French at Imperial College London, I bring the same organisation and rigour to my teaching that my own studies demand. My lessons are structured, friendly, and genuinely enjoyable — and above all, they get results you can see.
