My lessons are tailored to the individual student, ensuring that each session is focused on their goals, strengths, and areas for development. Whether you're preparing for GCSEs, A Levels, university admissions, or simply looking to improve your confidence in a subject, I adapt the pace and content of lessons to suit your needs.

I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and making mistakes as part of the learning process. My teaching combines clear explanations with active discussion, helping students develop both subject knowledge and the confidence to apply it independently.

For English Literature, lessons typically focus on close textual analysis, essay structure, critical argumentation, and exam technique. I encourage students to move beyond simply learning content and instead develop the analytical and evaluative skills that examiners are looking for.

For German and Spanish, I take a balanced approach that develops reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary. Depending on a student's objectives, lessons may involve conversation practice, translation exercises, grammar workshops, text analysis, or exam preparation. Having studied and lived in both Germany and Spain, I also enjoy incorporating cultural context into language learning to make lessons more engaging and authentic.

For Oxbridge admissions support, I offer guidance on personal statements, written work, admissions tests where relevant, and interview preparation. As a current Oxford student who has successfully navigated the application process and subsequently mentored applicants, I can provide practical advice as well as rigorous academic discussion.

My experience includes over three years of private tutoring alongside a year teaching English Language and Literature in a Bavarian secondary school, working with students from Key Stage 3 through to A Level equivalent. This combination of classroom and one-to-one teaching experience has given me a strong understanding of how students learn and how to adapt my teaching style to different personalities, learning preferences, and academic challenges.

Above all, my goal is to help students become more confident, capable, and independent learners. I want students to leave lessons not only with a stronger grasp of the material, but also with the skills and self-belief to succeed beyond the classroom.
