Hi!
I’m a soon-to-be language student with a natural talent and passion for teaching. I’ve been an informal teacher for some of my friends who are learning English as a second language. I’ll be able to understand what level your English is at and adjust what I teach accordingly so it’s challenging enough to make real progress but not to the point where it may be overwhelming. My teaching style itself is also very fluid, if someone seems to learn through immersion then I’ll teach them using practical examples but if someone prefers a more by the book approach then I’ll explicitly explain how certain grammar functions work. I’m also a language learner myself with 3 languages I speak natively, being Scottish Gaelic, Scots and English. I am currently learning Japanese with the intent to learn French and Chinese afterwards. I have an interest in linguistics itself as well so I have a good understanding of how languages as a whole work as well as knowing specific quirks and features of many such as word orders, tones, phonology and so on. This helps in teaching as if I know the student’s native language I’ll be able to draw parallels between the two to help in speeding up the learning process (similarities in language are what makes fairly complex languages like French so easy to learn for English speakers!)
I look forward to meeting you, and whatever level you’re at I’ll be sure to help you every step of the way!
