I became a fully qualified secondary school English teacher in 2016 with a background in English language and linguistics. I have been teaching in a variety of schools, including comprehensive, SEN, grammar, and international schools. I'm also a GCSE examiner, which has given me valuable insights into assessment criteria for various exam boards.
As a teacher and consequently a tutor, I have experience teaching English for the Common Entrance 11+, 13+, GCSE (all major exam boards), IGCSE, A Level, IB, and Pre-U. Additionally, my experience in an international setting includes teaching IELTS, TESOL, and CELPIP content.
I firmly believe in the importance of providing students with a broad, challenging, and balanced curriculum. However, I like building my approach around the students' needs and personal traits. My job is to present the simplicity of the English exam to my students, and once they grasp what the assessment criteria actually require, that is when the true magic happens. I love teaching English; however, even more, I love seeing my students thrive and gain confidence in their abilities, which always aligns with their outstanding exam results. You can find the confirmation of that in the reviews on englishbrainwash.co.uk.
