I am an experienced and passionate science teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience, specialising in Chemistry for students aged 11–16 (KS3 and KS4). Over the years, I have taught a range of curricula including Cambridge Checkpoint Science, Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry, and AQA GCSE Science. This broad experience allows me to understand the expectations of different exam boards and tailor my teaching to meet specific assessment objectives and examination requirements.
My lessons are structured, purposeful, and engaging, typically lasting between 50 and 60 minutes. Each session is carefully planned to ensure students make measurable progress. I usually begin with a short review activity to consolidate previous learning, followed by clear and detailed explanations of new concepts. I break complex scientific ideas into manageable steps, using relatable real-life examples to make abstract concepts easier to understand. This ensures that students do not just memorise content but truly comprehend it.
Depending on the topic and the learner’s needs, my teaching approach may be teacher-led, student-centred, or a balanced combination of both. In teacher-led segments, I provide clear instruction and model how to approach exam-style questions. In student-centred activities, learners actively participate through problem-solving, discussion, and independent practice. I use a variety of resources including quizzes, structured worksheets, simulation websites, interactive videos, and past examination questions to reinforce understanding and build exam confidence.
I am committed to maintaining high professional standards, safeguarding, and continuous professional development. Most importantly, I strive to create a supportive and positive online learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves. My ultimate goal is to build confidence, strengthen scientific skills, and help every student reach their full academic potential.
