Hello! I'm Sav, I'm 19 and I will be studying English Literature at a Russell group university this September. I'm currently learning Korean, and can hold a simple conversation, so if there are any young English students who speak Korean natively, lessons may be a little bit easier for the student when learning beginner English as I can help them understand words from Korean directly translated into English, however I can teach any child that speaks any native language. My lessons will be fun, interactive and completely tailored to your child's specific needs, skills and pace. My lessons will be held on Google Meets and be simple and easy with fun quizzes to easily retain information and weekly homework tasks that will cover the topics me and the student went over in the previous lesson. I understand that children may find it difficult to learn a new language, hence why my approach is gentle and my lessons are fun. Lessons will be 1-1 and an hour long each on Google Meets, and will begin with a greeting in English. Students will be required to have a pen and paper for the writing or spelling portions of lessons, and to take notes, and I will cover the basics of conversational English to begin with, such as introducing yourself, saying your age, colours , food and animals, talking about family and food you like. Writing and spelling will be taught first with teaching the alphabet, learning how to write letters and then words, until slowly learning how to write the basic phrases we went over as conversational English, such as 'My name is ___,' 'I am ___ years old.' I will teach the student how to write simple sentences once we cover how to write letters and words. Reading will also be taught in a similar way, by using the alphabet and sounding words out phonetically. Students can take notes in their Native language, for example - 'bonjour = hello' to help aid their understanding of learning English as a language at beginner level. The first lesson will be an introductory one so I can greet the student , get to know them a little bit and understand the level of their English to make future lesson plans accordingly - it is required that parents attend this first online lesson with their child too, in order to converse with me and allow me to know the level of their child's English, whilst being there for the child so they feel comfortable with their first online lesson. The introductory lesson will consist of me introducing myself to you and your child, holding a simple conversation with the child to assess their English level and outlining how lessons will work, alongside a small lesson on basic conversational speak, such as saying simple phrases like 'Hello! My name is ___. I am ___ years old. What's your name?' The aim of my tutoring is to have the student comfortably speaking English and holding simple conversations, writing and spelling simple sentences and being able to read at a beginner level.
