I have an Engineering degree, an MBA, and I’m CIMA part-qualified, giving me a strong academic background in mathematics, analytical thinking, logical reasoning and problem-solving. My education and professional career have involved working with numbers, analysing information and solving problems, which has strengthened both my mathematical skills and my ability to approach challenges logically.
I have always enjoyed understanding how things work and finding simple ways to solve problems. This is something I would love to pass on to students. I believe that mathematics does not have to be difficult or intimidating. Sometimes, all a student needs is a different explanation, a little more patience and someone who can encourage them to keep trying.
I am a friendly, patient and approachable person, and I understand that every student learns differently. Some students may understand a concept quickly, while others may need it explained using practical examples or broken down into smaller steps. I am happy to adapt my teaching style to suit the individual student and their level of confidence.
I can support students with areas such as arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, basic algebra, equations, problem-solving, mathematical reasoning and word problems. I can also help students strengthen their foundations, practise questions, prepare for assessments and build confidence in areas they may currently find challenging.
My approach is supportive and encouraging rather than simply focusing on getting the correct answer. I like to guide students through the reasoning behind a solution so they can understand the method and eventually solve similar problems independently. I believe making mistakes is an important part of learning, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about getting something wrong.
My professional experience has also helped me develop excellent communication, organisation, patience and interpersonal skills. I am reliable, responsible and genuinely enjoy helping others develop their knowledge and confidence.
Most importantly, I want students to enjoy learning. My goal is not only to help improve their mathematical ability and academic performance, but also to help them become more confident, independent learners who are not afraid of challenging questions. I would be delighted to support students on their maths journey and help them recognise their own potential.
