I am a passionate linguist, with a professional background in translation, both as a free-lancer and an Academic, specifically as an Assistant Lecturer in Translation with one of the main universities in London. This gives me an excellent experience in teaching students from a variety of ages, levels and cultures. Each lesson can be agreed together, whether your focus in on improving your conversation skills, or becoming more proficient in a specific area - maybe preparing for a trip, or a work project. I like to source materials that can be discussed together - from arts&culture, to politics and tourism: why not learning a language and having fun at the same time? As a mum of three, I have also extensive and hands-on experience in teaching younger students, particularly secondary school pupils preparing for their Italian GCSE. Many bilingual or second generation Italian households feel they struggle to help their children preparing for this important exam. Practicing the language - both written and spoken - with someone outside their family can help them boosting their confidence, and giving them the right tools to aim for a top grade. Lessons are based on the papers the students will sit in June, with plenty of mock tests to have a better understanding of what they will be dealing with. Younger children are welcome, too: with them I like to read (simple) books and play games to make sure learning - or strengthening - the language always comes with plenty of fun! Vi aspetto!
