I like to start my lessons with a chat about the students needs and potential weaknesses they might wish to address, followed by a short informal assessment to gauge their understanding on specific subjects. We can then design a plan together on topics to cover and skills we aim to develop.
Following this typical lessons are varied with different activities, powerpoint and video lectures and short exercises. All learning is done at the students own pace and I adjust my teaching to suit individual needs - there’s no one way to learn!
I’m highly passionate about the life sciences and love to share my knowledge, and although not every student will share the same enthusiasm I strive to make the tutoring sessions a fun and welcoming environment where learning doesn’t have to be a chore.
