My maths lessons are structured, calm, and designed to help primary school students feel confident and supported.
Each session usually begins with a short warm-up to understand how the student is feeling about the topic and to review previous learning. I then introduce or revisit a maths concept step by step, using simple explanations and examples that are easy to follow. I encourage students to talk through their thinking so I can understand where they might feel stuck and adjust my approach accordingly.
Lessons focus on core primary maths skills such as number sense, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, word problems, and problem solving. I often use practice questions and guided examples to help students apply what they have learned, with gentle correction and encouragement throughout.
I adapt every lesson to the child’s pace and learning style. Some students benefit from repetition, while others prefer visual explanations or real-life examples. My goal is to make maths feel less overwhelming and more manageable, especially for children who may lack confidence.
I have experience working with children in supportive and structured environments, which has helped me understand the importance of patience, reassurance, and positive reinforcement. I create a friendly learning space where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
Overall, my lessons aim to build strong foundations in maths while also helping children develop confidence, curiosity, and a positive relationship with learning.
