Hi! I'm Sanjana, a biology tutor based in Newcastle upon Tyne, offering online lessons to students across the UK. I hold a First Class Bachelor of Dental Surgery and am currently completing an MSc in Oral Sciences at Newcastle University — so biology isn't just something I studied, it's something I live and breathe every day.
My Background
Throughout six years of rigorous scientific training, I built a deep understanding of the topics that students find most challenging — genetics, cellular biology, microbiology, human anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. I graduated as class topper with a Merit grade in my final year, which reflects not just my knowledge but my dedication to truly understanding the subject rather than simply memorising it.
How I Teach
I believe every student learns differently, so I start by understanding your goals, your current level, and where you feel least confident. From there, I build lessons around you — using real-life examples, clear diagrams, and step-by-step explanations to make even the most complex topics feel manageable and interesting. I never rush, and I always make sure you feel comfortable asking questions — no matter how simple they might seem.
My Experience
I have experience explaining scientific concepts to a wide range of people — from mentoring junior dental students during clinical training, to educating patients and members of the public at community health camps, to supporting children in a classroom as a volunteer at NEST School in Newcastle. This has given me a natural, patient teaching style that adapts to whoever I am working with.
What You Can Expect
Each lesson is structured but flexible — we cover the content you need while leaving room to revisit anything that needs more attention. I use interactive discussion, practice questions, and visual aids to keep sessions engaging, and I always follow up with a clear summary of what we covered and what to focus on next.
Whether you are aiming to boost your GCSE grade, tackle A-Level biology with more confidence, or simply develop a better understanding of the subject, I am here to help you get there — one lesson at a time.
