My lessons are structured, practical, and supportive, designed to make Accounting and Finance clear, relevant, and confidence-building.

I usually begin sessions with a clear overview of the topic and learning outcomes, followed by step-by-step explanations using real-life business and financial examples. Complex concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, financial statements, costing, budgeting, and cash flow are broken down into manageable stages so learners can fully understand why things work, not just memorise answers.

Lessons are interactive rather than lecture-heavy. Students regularly take part in:

Short quizzes and checks for understanding
Group discussion and problem-solving activities

I place strong emphasis on exam technique, assessment criteria, and how marks are awarded, particularly for BTEC and vocational courses. Feedback is clear, constructive, and actionable, helping students understand exactly how to improve.

With 7 years’ experience teaching Accounting and Finance including BTEC and vocational programmes, I adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles and levels of confidence. I am patient, approachable, and supportive, creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.

My goal is for students to leave lessons feeling more confident, more capable, and better prepared for assessments, further study, or careers in business and finance.
