My lessons are engaging, interactive and highly tailored to boost the student's confidence and performance in weak areas and achieve academic success.

The first lesson is used to check baseline levels across key academic areas such as reading and spag for SATs as well as vocabulary, creative writing and verbal reasoning (if required) for 11+ preparation.

Subsequent lessons can be structured according to the student's requirements and are delivered using a variety of methods. These include presentations; reading, writing, spag and vocabulary exercises; quizzes and answering practice questions/assessments from leading exam preparation publications such as CGP and Bond.

I set weekly homework, to reinforce and check learning as well as monitor progress, which is marked and commented on.

Lessons are 1 hour long and delivered using MS Teams.

I am passionate about literacy and helping children achieve their best by developing their reading, oracy and writing skills. I have been teaching children online and in the classroom for the past 10 years and have a proven track record in building a rapport with students.

Alongside tutoring, I am a writer and have published books with Oxford University Press specifically targeted at helping children with their reading.

Previous titles include, 'Wait and See', 'The King and the Cockerel' and 'Max helps the Planet'.
