Having tutored both online and in person, I have found that the most effective method to teach someone how to solve a given problem is to teach them how to break said problem down into manageable portions. I find that most maths questions follow a set of consistent procedures, and the key to deep understanding of a topic is to recognise these patterns within questions. Once a student does this, solving a problem becomes merely a step by step process of plugging in values into previously seen and practiced methods. Teaching this way has on many occasions caused topics that seem impenetrable to certain students to become crystal clear, as they see the underlying workings of the problem, and have a direct line of sight to the solution.
I pride myself on my patience and amiability. All of my lessons are strictly free of judgement, as I understand how maths specifically can seem completely opaque to many millions of people around the world. If it's just that you need to pass a test, I am absolutely happy to give you all the tools you will need, and I'm also happy to revise anything you are mostly certain about and just need confirmation of. There are no stupid questions, and there is always use in asking.
My lessons will revolve around one specific topic per hour, if we find that we cover all of the content fast enough and to a satisfactory level, we may move on to a related topic. I like to work from textbooks and exam papers, as it can be easier to take notes from seeing questions being solved in real time. However if you have a way of working that you prefer personally, I'm happy to help you with that too.
Fundamentally, I want learning maths to be as painless as possible, for you and me, and i'll do everything in my power to make that happen.
Shoot me a message if interested! I look forward to hearing from you.
