I provide notes and worked examples for OCR A Level Maths B (MEI), Core Maths (Level 3) — AQA / OCR (MEI), OCR FSMQ Additional Maths (6993), and AQA Level 2 Further Maths (8365). Alongside this, I offer fully 1:1 sessions aimed at addressing problem areas of understanding, developing exam technique, and visualising concepts to help students not only improve their school and exam performance, but also develop greater problem-solving skills and further their understanding of Mathematics as a whole in preparation for higher education and future careers.
I am a Dean’s List award-winning engineering student at the University of Southampton, with A* grades in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A Level. I have previous tutoring experience, where I assisted in raising a student’s grade from a D to a B.
The beginning of our lessons will consist of a 10-minute warm-up to help the student prepare for learning and review key concepts. I will then provide 35 minutes of instructed work, introducing new material using the “I do, we do, you do” approach. This will be followed by 10 minutes of independent work, allowing students to apply skills on their own under observation. A brief wrap-up will then take place, where we will mark down whether planned learning outcomes have been met and note areas for improvement using the SMART method.
A structured approach to the syllabus will be taken, making sure to cover every topic likely to come up in the exam. There will also be opportunities for the student to ask for further help with any areas they find difficult, or to highlight these at the beginning of the process.
