I am an experienced primary school Teaching Assistant with many years of experience supporting children across the primary age range. I have particular experience working with children who have special educational needs and those who need additional support with their learning.
My lessons are friendly, patient and tailored to each individual child. I understand that children learn in different ways, so I adapt activities and explanations to suit their ability, learning style and confidence.
I can support children with English, reading, spelling, writing and maths, as well as helping them practise skills they may be struggling with at school. I have experience delivering targeted interventions, including reading, spelling, literacy and precision teaching activities.
I believe building a child’s confidence is just as important as improving their academic skills. I create a calm and encouraging environment where children can ask questions, make mistakes and learn at their own pace without feeling pressured.
I will work with parents to identify the areas their child needs help with and plan sessions around these needs. Lessons can include explanation, guided practice, practical activities and independent tasks, with plenty of encouragement throughout.
My aim is for children to leave each session feeling more confident, capable and positive about their learning.
I also understand the importance of making learning enjoyable and achievable. I use praise and encouragement to motivate children and help them recognise their progress. I aim to develop independent learning skills while ensuring every session is supportive, engaging and appropriate for each child’s needs
