I struggled with higher biology at the start of the year and i find school don’t really explain the difference revision methods and don’t make the lessons fun to make pupils want to learn… biology can be tricky because it’s a lot to remember and that’s how i struggled was trying to cram 10 topics into my revision time- but i found mind maps and catchy phrases to remember things helped me! Especially writing essays essentially and using past paper questions. I love mind maps because you put down the basic knowledge… and learn the filler words after! ( and because it adds fun to learning as they can be pretty!). I would take a deep dive into what your struggling with and break it down into early level knowledge and build it up from there- start from the beginning and work your way up! I keep track of what we went over and at the end of the lesson we can do a quick quiz to see what u remembered! i’ll constantly challenge you after a couple lessons on previous topics just to ensure your comfortable and confident with what we have went over in the past before moving onto something different. My hours are flexible so i’m free whenever is necessary and i’m always okay to take breaks in the hour if some of the learning is too much or alot to take in. I just want everyone to feel 100% confident in what we are learning on the lessons!
