Hi,

I'm Sam, an illustrator from Kent. After completing my studies in illustration, gaining both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in the subject, I have been working as a freelancer since.

My creative background began with pen and pencil, which I like to use for a lot of my lessons. I believe that the fundamentals of learning any form of arts can be addressed simply with a pencil and a piece of paper.
Learning to draw is something that took me a lot of practice, so I wish to give students the tools to be able to learn for themselves and find fun in creating!

My lessons are approached in a friendly manner to best spark creativity. After getting to know the student/parent I am able to tailor the lesson to best suit my student.
Drawing is often where I begin, which would see us tackling simple tasks across areas such as:
Anatomy, perspective, composition, shading etc.

Once we've got to know each other, and I can see what the student enjoys doing, and what they might need more help with, allowing me to tailor the following lessons to best help them out.

As an illustrator, I've worked with all sorts of styles over the years. Whilst I work mostly via iPad now, I am well accustomed to all traditional mediums such as paints.
