I'm an experienced and patient English teacher who has led both a department and many students to success. My tutoring style places the student at the centre of the experience, building on their existing understanding and seeking out gaps and misconceptions. Each session will focus on retrieving prior learning, expert led teaching and explanation with a combination of teacher led, supported and then independent practice aiming to build students confidence and skills in a safe, nurturing environment.

I have experience working for lead exam boards, working as an examiner for AQA for a number of years. This gives me the most up to date CPD and robust understanding of the assessments and what examiners are looking for.

My aim is to build students confidence, support students in acquiring the core knowledge and skills needed to succeed at English in KS3, KS4 and beyond and improve students literacy.
