I am a recent maths graduate with two years experience tutoring maths at all secondary levels. Having achieved a level 7 in IB maths myself and a first class undergraduate degree I have a detailed subject knowledge which allows me to effectively identify knowledge gaps and build student confidence.
In university I saw the beauty of the structure and patterns in maths and I love to share that with my students, or at least show them that it can be fun! With 1 on 1 specialised care I ensure my students have strong foundations and are thinking about problems in the right way to excel in their exams. I have been trained and acted as a volunteer youth mentor for two years, giving me a particular strength in careful listening and making young people feel comfortable, heard, and motivated.
I have tutored maths for two years, in-person and online in 1 on 1 sessions at A Level, GCSE and KS3 level. I deliver tailored lessons for individual students' needs and goals. Parents have consistently reported increased confidence and top marks.
I focus on examples-based teaching, going through past-paper questions and simpler example questions to build up familiarity. Conceptual gaps are addressed as they arise, focusing on a solid foundation and an intuitive understanding of key concepts.
I am always available to teach remotely with a shared online whiteboard setup. For in-person lessons I am based in London for the summer and in Cambridge from October, and can travel to nearby students.
