My lessons are designed to be clear, supportive and genuinely engaging. I focus on helping students feel more confident in their understanding of English Literature, English Language and Law at both GCSE and A-Level. As a Law graduate, I am used to analysing texts in depth, breaking down complex ideas and explaining them in a simple, approachable way. I bring this same approach to tutoring, encouraging students to think critically, read between the lines and understand what a writer or legal source is really showing, not just what appears on the surface.
Each lesson begins with a quick check-in to see how the student is feeling about the topic. From there, we break the content into manageable steps. This might include analysing a poem, exploring themes in a novel, working through unseen extracts, planning essays, or breaking down legal principles and applying them to scenarios. I use guided questions, model answers, planning methods and short practice tasks to help students build strong habits and feel prepared for their exams.
I aim to create a relaxed and comfortable environment where students feel able to ask questions and share their thoughts without pressure. Throughout each lesson, I offer constructive feedback so they understand exactly where they’re improving and what we will focus on next.
My experience supporting learners from primary age through to college level has taught me to adapt my teaching style to each student. Whether someone prefers step-by-step guidance, deeper discussion or more structured exam practice, I tailor every session to their pace and goals so they can make steady, meaningful progress.
