I offer friendly, clear and personalised tutoring for students who want support with English Language, English Literature, reading, writing, homework, revision and confidence. My lessons are mainly aimed at primary, KS3 and GCSE students who need explanations that feel simple, structured and easy to follow.

For English Language, I can help with reading comprehension, analysing language and structure, comparing texts, evaluation questions, creative writing, descriptive writing, transactional writing, planning answers and improving exam technique. I focus on helping students understand exactly what the question is asking, how to structure their response, and how to write in a way that is clear, developed and thoughtful.

For English Literature, I can support students with poetry, Shakespeare, modern texts, 19th-century texts, characters, themes, context, quotations and essay writing. I can help students build quote banks, understand key ideas, plan essays, write stronger paragraphs and connect evidence to deeper analysis.

My teaching style is based on the revision methods that helped me: breaking topics into simple steps, using active recall, practising exam-style questions, making clear essay structures, learning key quotes, and improving answers through feedback. I can also help students make sensible revision priorities and topic predictions based on common themes, past papers and weak areas, while still making sure they do not rely only on predictions.

Lessons can be one-to-one or in small groups. I usually begin by finding out what the student struggles with, then I explain the topic clearly, show examples, practise questions together and give supportive feedback. My aim is to help students feel less confused, more prepared and more confident in their own writing and understanding.
