My 11+ lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual strengths and areas for improvement. As a Year 12 student studying Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, I bring strong academic knowledge alongside recent first-hand experience of selective school preparation. Having attended Rickmansworth School, a partially selective school, I understand the expectations, pressures, and skills required to succeed in entrance exams. My passion for teaching began when I mentored younger students during form time, where I developed patience, clear communication skills, and the ability to explain concepts in an approachable way.

Sessions begin with a short review of previous work, followed by focused teaching of key 11+ topics such as maths, English comprehension, and verbal or non-verbal reasoning. I use clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice before students attempt independent exam-style questions. Lessons include timed exercises to improve speed, accuracy, and exam confidence. Weekly homework reinforces learning, and regular progress checks help tailor future lessons. I aim to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence while developing strong exam technique and independent learning skills.

I also focus on developing organisation and study habits that help students stay consistent between lessons. Parents receive updates on progress and areas of improvement, ensuring clear communication and measurable development. My friendly and relatable teaching style helps students feel at ease, making lessons both productive and enjoyable while maintaining a strong academic focus. I aim to motivate students to take pride in their progress and approach learning with greater confidence and independence.
