Every student is different and so are their learning needs. For this reason, while my lessons will have an overall outline where I ensure the student engages with all four aspects of language learning (listening, reading, writing and speaking), I would like to discuss either ahead or during our first session exactly what the student is looking to get out of this class. Each class will have a thematic approach combining tense and grammar learning with specific areas of interest based on my students' hobbies or extracurriculars. By setting additional tasks such as listening to songs in or watching films in the target language to do ahead of classes, the student can continuously immerse themselves in the culture, and we can start our class learning with something more engaging than syntax structure.
