My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs and ability.

I begin by understanding the student’s current level and identifying any gaps in knowledge or confidence. From there, I create a clear plan to strengthen fundamentals and gradually introduce more challenging topics.

A typical lesson includes:

Reviewing previous topics to reinforce understanding
Step-by-step explanation of new concepts
Guided practice with support
Independent questions to build confidence
A recap to ensure key points are fully understood

I focus on breaking down problems into simple, manageable steps and encouraging students to explain their thinking. This helps build both confidence and long-term understanding.

Where possible, I relate topics to real-world examples from my experience as a Civil Engineer, helping students see how maths is applied in everyday life.

My aim is to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at their own pace.

I also provide support with homework, test preparation, and building exam confidence where needed. Lessons are adapted to suit each student’s school topics, upcoming assessments, and specific areas requiring improvement.

Over time, my goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students become more independent, confident, and capable in their approach to maths.
