Achieved AQA biology GCSE grade 9 and A-level grade B myself so I can assure you my techniques work!

Before university, I was sought out during sixth form to be a maths tutor for students year 9-10 and helped boost the students to a consistant grade 6 from a low 5 from one twenty minute session once a week. Now, despite taking a year out to focus on my studies, I am ready to help you become more confident in your ability in biology!

An overview of my lessons: start with a recap from the precious session, just a couple questions that really encompass the core concepts of the previous session to help build long term memory. Then we move onto content using videos from trusted sources like Miss Estruch (who I do swear by for quick easy to understand explanations), blending in me explaining concepts using diagrams, a Q&A based system so you feel confident on everything and then answering questions together. We will start together working over the mark points so make sure that you are hitting those mark scheme specific words and phrases and the we will finish off with some exam questions independently answered by you, under loosely times conditions around 1.5 minutes per mark to get used to that exam speed needed- if this is too fast at first, we will extend that time and for those with extra time, this will be adjusted. We will then talk through the answers using the mark scheme, slowly pointing out the marking points, any information that isn’t correct and any that can be improved to get those final marks. I am able to change this format for individuals if there is any specific request and am happy to go back over things or take longer of specific areas when requested.

Ask me questions until you are confident, I don’t want you leaving a session full of unanswered questions. If there is anything I cannot answer that session, I will go away, find an answer and get it to you before the nest session!
