I am a person-centred therapist offering counselling to students who are struggling with anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues and trauma. In a non- judgemental, collaborative , safe therapeutic space, I help you to navigate your unique counselling journey, helping you to become the best version of yourself.
Although, person-centred therapy is my core training, I can offer other modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis and gestalt therapy. It really depends on your needs and how you want to be helped. I will assess your baseline mental health scores using PHQ and GAD scoring systems. We will identify your goals at the outset and regularly review them throughout your counselling sessions. When an ending is in sight, we will look together at your progress and provide feedback, ensuring that you are ready to complete therapy.
The therapy sessions can be arranged weekly or fortnightly for as long as it takes for you to feel more complete with improved coping skills and strategies to find peace and acceptance.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I can be found on their website. I work to their ethical framework to protect both you and me in a professional capacity. I have also volunteered as a listening volunteer for Samaritans for 4 years and have gained experience in active listening in a very sensitive and compassionate space. Confidentiality is observed for all clients, unless there is a safeguarding concern where I have a duty of care to report to appropriate authorities.
