I have lots of experience in many areas and have previously supported students to attain their best at GCSE, A Level and University. I have worked as a mentor and really enjoy helping students succeed in all avenues. I am very good at catering to individual needs including SEND and like to work with my students to focus on both academic and personal development, including developing confidence, resilience, and public speaking as being able to communicate effectively is essential to setting oneself above the competition. I have a kind and adaptive approach to teaching and makes my lessons interesting according to the individual needs of the student. I bring in elements from industry to help students understand exactly what employers are looking for and address the bigger picture with regards to future options. The skills learned from the sciences are applicable to every subject within school, as literacy and mathematics are a key focus along with the theoretical knowledge needed to be successful at every level. I tailor my content to the lived-experiences of my students to ensure the lessons are engaging and this approach also helps with contextualisation of the more abstract concepts in Science. Sport is also a huge passion of mine, and as an Exercise Physiologist I enjoy using sports analogies and scenarios if that is most helpful for my students. I am also a creative and if this angle is more appropriate, then I will tailor my content to ensure there is a creative element to the work as this often helps those who are more artistically-minded to engage. I really enjoy teaching and I have been told that my enthusiasm is contagious.
