I am a dynamic leaner- centred teacher with close to a decade teaching experience in business management and other business related modules. I am have been a lecturer teaching levels 3 to 6 in London and currently a Secondary school Business teacher. I use student centred approach through identifying learner’s learning styles and adjusting to these styles to suit my the needs of my students. One to one lessons are also delivered to students with specific learning needs or disabilities to help them catch up.
This student centred approach has benefited many students as they are able to understand all what is taught by having hands on experience with learning materials under my supervision. Modules such as study skills which prepares student for success, knowledge and creativity are basic in the foundation year which I teach to help my students achieve their best potentials as they apply it in their academic journey. Introduction to people management, also known as Human resource management and introduction to business are all modules I teach in different levels to enhance students’ learning. Pastoral care and personal academic tutorials are also given to all students including students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia. These students usually need to catch up with assignments, course material learning and tutorials. I help them using the same student centred learning approach but with more and extra effort to work with them according to their pace, level of understanding and experience. Everyone is different and learn differently, hence the right and appropriate pedagogy must be used to enhance students’ learning. This is my teaching philosophy.
