I will always work with where the individual is at and use the theories of the neuroscience of learning to build memory, understanding and confidence. I strongly believe in building relationships and providing relevant accommodations.

I am friendly and approachable and work on building a strong, trusting relationship with all my students.,

Lessons will involve lots of questions, thinking and whiteboard use; explaining ideas and checking for understanding through diagrams and worked examples. We will build mastery of the material and reflect on errors or misunderstanding to develop confidence and resilience.

Where possible we will get hands-on to get a real feel for the physics and mechanics.

Once the material is secure we then focus on optimising exam marks so you can achieve the best outcomes possible in your courses. We will focus on exam technique, presentation and structure.

Maths and Physics are both technical and abstract subjects and I enjoy using demonstrations and simulations so students really live and breathe the ideas, not just remember facts.

In the classroom I am a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher but also focus on an individualised approach, providing additional support sessions and guidance both on the subject matter and study skills in general. As a tutor, I can support you to overcome whatever obstacles you face and really help you find that inner drive to work hard and be the best you you can be.

I have experience working with neurodivergent students and EBSA and can be flexible around your needs and what you want to achieve from the additional support.
