I am a Chinese native speaker. I have studied TCSOL (Teaching of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) for both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies. I started teaching Chinese as a foreign language in 2019. I have taught many students from different cultural backgrounds. The ages range from 5 to 50 years old.
Students' learning needs have always been the starting point for me to design my teaching. According to different language background and foundation, I choose teaching materials with different degrees of complexity. I am good at using deductive and inductive methods, and I like to use an interactive mode, combining lecture and practice so that students can fully understand and master the knowledge points that appear in the textbook. I prefer teaching pinyin, Chinese characters and grammar in a step-by-step manner.
My students considered me as a very responsible teacher. My classroom is relaxing and lively, but I am very serious when it comes to knowledge. I am good at spotting students' shining points and can encourage them in time to make them more confident in their learning path.
