I have experience tutoring GCSE Maths students across both foundation and higher tiers, supporting a wide range of abilities. My teaching approach is strongly focused on exam-style practice, as I believe this is the most effective way for students to build confidence and understand how to apply their knowledge under real exam conditions. Rather than relying solely on theory, I prioritise working through past paper questions, mark schemes, and common exam scenarios to help students recognise patterns and develop problem-solving techniques.

I have successfully helped students improve significantly, including supporting learners to progress from a grade U to a grade 5, as well as helping others move from a grade 5 to achieving grades 8 and above. This range of experience has allowed me to adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s starting point and learning pace. For foundation students, I focus on strengthening core skills and ensuring a solid understanding of key topics, while for higher-tier students, I emphasise more complex problem-solving and exam technique.

In my sessions, I also place importance on identifying individual weaknesses and targeting them through structured practice. I encourage students to learn from their mistakes by carefully reviewing answers and understanding mark schemes. Overall, my goal is to not only improve grades but also build confidence and independence in maths, enabling students to approach their exams with clarity and assurance.
