Ruby Taylor

I have two years experience tutoring English, maths and science for a young person who was home schooled. My passion is English Literature and what I love to teach, but I can also tutor in all areas of English including English Language, and English as a foreign language. I am a first-class English Literature and Creative Writing graduate from Newcastle University. At A-Level I achieved an A* in my English Literature exam.

I know that everyone's brains work differently, and I will always tailor sessions to whatever works best for your learning style. I usually work by you bringing me topics you are struggling with, and I will find engaging ways to help your understanding. I like to run sessions like a conversation, where we can problem solve together. I can also plan more of a structured curriculum if this works better for you. I always want to keep my lessons as interesting as possible, so mix up techniques where I can to keep them engaging. I can also provide recourses for you to continue developing understanding outside of sessions.

I can provide essay preparation. I am happy to read essays and help you improve them, as well as go through technique.

I have experience working with both adults and young people, and can tutor at any age or level of experience.
