I would describe my style as highly adaptable. I do not really prefer one teaching method, or one way of interacting with the students in a learning environment. Because in my opinion, each student is different, so is each lesson, and a good tutor should always adjust their teaching to their audience, the difficulty of the lesson, and so on. I simply prefer individual approach to teaching, and I alternate between being a demonstrator, facilitator, and delegator.
I believe in setting goals for lessons, which allows the student to see the progress they are making. I also encourage self learning once the student is more familiar with the topics, this allows them to explore and develop more.
I am also a big supporter of promoting an honest and open line of communication. Students need to feel comfortable enough to tell me if they feel I am moving to fast or if I need to simplify the topic a bit more, this will allow me to adapt to individual student needs.
